Fit Tip for the Men's Nepal Evo GTX Mountaineering Boot: The Nepal EVO GTX fits true to size. It has a roomy toe box for thick socks and is somewhat narrow under-foot and narrow in the heel to aid in vertical ice climbing. Do not size up if you are planning on wearing thicker socks. The Nepal also accepts all types of insoles for a more specific fit. In height, they come to just below mid-shin. Be sure to size these so that the heels do not slip in the back and you have enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes. There is no problem with crampon fit - Cyborg, G14, Sabretooth, Dart, Sarken; no issues.

The Ultimate Leather Mountaineering Boot Bomber is the word for these boots. After a nuclear explosion, the only thing left alive would be cockroaches, and they will be living in La Sportiva Nepal EVO GTX mountaineering boots. The Nepal has been around for years, and the new Nepal EVO features all of the updates from Sportiva. The GTX adds warmth and reduces weight, while adding waterproofing insurance for those sloppy warm afternoon descents. From mountaineering to ice climbing, the Nepal Evo keeps your heels locked down and keeps the weight off as well for technical ascents of waterfall ice. When warmth, sensitivity, and durability are the ingredients that you need to cook up your dream alpine climb, make sure you float on using the Nepal Evo. Very Good for Snow I purchased Nepal Evo GTX Mountaineering Boots for climbing Mt.Shasta. This boots are great and it's warm in early morning climbing and they keep my foot dry in sloppy snow in the afternoon. Even though I spent only a couple of weeks on machine to break-in, I didn't have any blisters.

Altrec/Vendor Response: Concerning the breaking in... It's pretty darn hard to break mountaineering boots in. It's an excellent idea to have a good amount of time spent in the boots before game time, however don't expect the same break in results that you would gain from a standard hiking boot. Mountaineering and Ice climbing boots are more rigid and thus, they will take longer to "break in" per say. Expect the breaking in to be more about forming the inside of the boot to your foot, and less about making the actual boot move with the motion of your foot when you step.
